Day 2: First Gold for Austria

First gold medal for Austria on day two of the 2. FIR European Racketlon Championships presented by GRAWE sidebyside! Simone Seitz took the title in the Women’s Singles 40+ competition. In the final she defeated Esther Dübendorfer from Switzerland in the “Gummiarm”-decider. Right after the match the Swiss wanted revanche. “She said, that next year at the World Championships there has to be a rematch”, said Seitz, wo was part of the Austrian World Championship teams 2010 and 2012 in the Elite class.

Another medal for Austria went to the Juniors U21 team. Bettina Bugl, Emanuel Schöpf and Tobias Fürschuß where defeated by British Hannah Boden, Leon Griffiths and Piers Boden in the final and got silver.

Bettina Bugl and Emanuel Schöpf could take revanche on Sunday in the U21 Mixed Doubles final they are competing against Hannah und Piers Boden. Im Singles both Bugl and Emanuel Schöpf are going for gold on Sunday.

Another silver-medal for Austria went to Erich Mlinarik. He finished the Men’s Seniors 70+ in second place,  Rolf Lorenz from Germany took gold, Hubert Fromlet from Sweden bronze.
